Treasurer Wanted and Needed

With Gail’s passing, we are in need of a treasurer. Over the past years, Peter Weston and then Gail updated our finances to be managed with QuickBooks, and our bank is Skowhegan Savings Bank. With Gail’s passing, we are in need of a treasurer. Over the past years, Peter Weston and then Gail updated our finances to be managed with QuickBooks, and our bank is Skowhegan Savings Bank.
Responsibilities of the treasurer begin with paying bills and making some deposits, and include reconciling the checking account monthly. The next responsibility is entering transactions into QuickBooks, which has been set up for CVOA’s needs. We would hope that the next treasurer will be interested in putting forth a budget once familiar with the finances.
In 2017 under Gail’s direction, a Finance Committee was established, and met three times. The committee’s purpose and responsibilities are to provide support to the treasurer and establish policies that will help secure the long-term financial health of our organization. As you can see, there is strong support available to our next treasurer.
As noted earlier, I am a signatory on the CVOA checking account, and have taken on the task of paying bills, making deposits, and keeping the checkbook current. However, I am not interested in taking on QuickBooks, and hope that someone will step up to the treasurer position soon.
The new treasurer should have some general knowledge of finances, and be either a QuickBooks user, or willing and able to learn how to use it.
If you have any interest in fulfilling this need, or finding out more, please contact me soon. Or if you can recommend someone who might be the right person, let me know who to call.
Thank you for your consideration, and Happy New Year for CVOA. ~ Cindy Foster, Secretary and Temporary Bookkeeper, 237-3711 OR reply to this newsletter
